In this Institute, authors Allison Zmuda and Bena Kallick will introduce the metaphor of the soundboard to illustrate the dynamic tension between tight control over the pace of learning and assignments for students AND loosening control over the process of learning and assignment parameters. In this path we consider how to personalize through strategies for self-regulation, building relationships, and focusing on time management.
Outcomes:
- Explore the metaphor of the personalized learning slider in your own practice by reflecting on examples where students engage in more self-direction
- Learn strategies to build relationships for personalized learning
- Explore a variety of tools for self-management
