Personalized Learning: What Students Need to Work Through Challenges

In this Institute, authors Allison Zmuda and Bena Kallick will continue to use the metaphor of the soundboard to develop student capacity to better understand themselves and each other as learners. In order for students to become more active in navigating their learning, teachers need to know their students well and students need to know one another and honor each others’ strengths to create a safe space for thinking and imagining.

Institute Outcomes:
  • Develop strategies for developing student voice
  • Explore a range of tools to identify/design a diagnostic survey for students
  • Communicate to your students the power of a safe place to think, wonder, imagine
