Habits of Mind 4: Persisting

After years of focusing exclusively on academic standards, bringing the Habits of Mind to life in your classroom may require a shift on your part–moving away from just paying attention to content learning to focusing also on developing self-directed, thoughtful problem solvers.  Whether in school, in career, or in life, learning how to persist when things are challenging is central to success.

Learning Path Outcomes:
  • Examine the skill of persisting
  • Recognize its importance in the learning process
  • Learn strategies to help stay with a task especially when it is challenging
