UbD – 6 Stage 3: The Learning Plan



Stage 3 is where teachers determine the sequence of learning activities, decide on the appropriate resources, and consider what differentiation might be needed to address differences in student knowledge and skill levels. In this Learning Path by Understanding by Design® (UbD) co-author Jay McTighe, you will learn to develop the specific lessons for your unit.

Learning Path Outcomes: 
  • Explore Stage 3 of backward design;
  • Learn the significance of acquisition, meaning making and teaching for transfer;
  • Code lessons, activities, and assessments; and
  • Determine indicators of teaching and assessing for understanding.
