MCL4HS: Structural Change is REAL Change
Charles Schwahn is the author of Total Leader’s and co-author of Inevitable: Mass Customized Learning (MCL). In this learning path, you will discover the sharp difference between the weight bearing walls of the outdated/present Industrial Age school structures and Mass Customized Learning structures. You will have the opportunity to study each of the structures in-depth, and explore the impact they can and will have on learners and education in general.
Learning Path Outcomes:
As a leadership learner, you will be able to:
- describe how Steve Jobs and Apple were able to create the Ideal Listening Experience, how Jeff Bezos created the Ideal Reading Experience . . . and how their strategies/changes could and should apply to education and to the Ideal Learning Experience in your learning community.
- state clearly and convincingly why retaining the Industrial Age assembly line, time-based structure of schools inhibits MCL and meeting the learning needs of each learner.
- describe how Lori (of Lori Does Her Learning Plan, Chapter 7) creates her learning schedule, and is able to describe the structural changes that make Lori’s planning decisions possible.
- provide strategies for gaining the understanding and support for MCL4HS from: learners, learning facilitators, the leadership team, the Board of Education, and the community.
