Leading for SEL Integration

When policy and practice are aligned, students experience a Whole Child environment where social-emotional learning skills (SEL) are modeled, fostered, and developed throughout the organization. In this Institute, administrators will engage in learning activities in which they will study the components of SEL, examine four entry points for SEL integration, and engage in critical conversation to uncover SEL/content-related applications. Participants will develop a plan of action leading to the development of a social, emotional, and academic learning community where students can thrive. Author and educational consultant Krista Leh shares personal experience, research, and her comprehensive professional knowledge about social-emotional learning as she guides educational leaders toward an understanding of how to develop an aligned, comprehensive, sustainable SEL system.
